Keukenhof – Lisse
Keukenhof is one of the most famous flower garden, also called the Garden of Europe. Keukenhof is located in Lisses South Holland. It was created in 1949 by the then-mayor of Lisse. The idea was to present a flower exhibit where growers from all over the Netherlands and Europe could show off their hybrids and help the Dutch export industry. Netherlands specialise in the production of bulb flower – Netherlands is the number 1 exporter of flowers in the world. In the park, over 7 million bulbs are planted and awaits to bloom in spring, you’ll see many varieties of every colors, more than 800 differents kinds. It is a unique and wonderful experience ! The park includes spectacular flower parades, 32 hectares of gardens, and delightful events. On top of this, there will be one main exhibition called the Tulip Mania at Juliana Pavillion. The garden is suited for kids and adults. Children can enjoy a treasure hunt, farm, maze and playground. It is a great place to spend some time with family, friends or with your other half!
Rotterdam & Amsterdam
Rotterdam is the second largest city in the Netherlands. Rotterdam is famous for its port which is the largest in Europe, the particularity of the city is its experimental architecture, different designs are mixed, it gives to the city an unique outlook. Rotterdam also has a couple of skyscrapers, very unusual for a dutch city. In other major cities in the Netherlands you can see medieval historical center, with these typical houses which have no more than 3 floors, and that are built next to one another. Check the top of these houses, it displays the wealth of the owner, the more stairs it has the richer the owner was. Rotterdam shines for its high trafic of imported and exported goods, its unique architecture and last, its prestigious university Erasmus, named after a Dutch humanist who was the greatest scholar of the northern Renaissance, the first editor of the New Testament.
Our itinerary
Day 1 -16.04.2021 - Depart from Paris
Let's meet at Trocadéro at 22h30 the bus will leave half an hour later. Time of departure will be reconfirm to you by text 1-2 days before the big day.
Day 2 -17.04.2021 - Visit Keukenhof & Amsterdam
On Saturday morning, we will arrive at the park Keukenhof. Already approaching destination, along the road, you’ll see beautiful endless tulip fields. The tulip business is not reserve to the park only, the whole region is busy growing them ! In the park enjoy the flower parades, multiple events and shows. In the evening, you’ll head to the capital Amsterdam, a city that has much to offer, its picturesque houses and canals, cute streets like the 9 straatjes and its numerous squares ; Museumplein, rembrandtplein etc. In the evening we will head to our hotel in the south of NL, in the historical city of Delft.
Day 3 -18.04.2021 - Rotterdam and back to Paris
In the morning after your breakfast you'll have a couple of hours to check out the city of Delft. It has a unique architecture mixing old and new. In fact in was almost entirely bombed during the 2nd world war, leaving empty spaces for experimental architecture and creativity to irrupt. In this the only city in the Netherlands where you'll see high buildings, some old architecture still remains, especially around the small port, don't forget to check it out.
