Reims
Founded by the Gauls, Reims became a major city during the period of the Roman Empire.Reims later played a prominent ceremonial role in French monarchical history as the traditional site of the coronation of the kings of France. The royal anointing was performed at the Cathedral of Reims, which housed the Holy Ampulla of chrism allegedly brought by a white dove at the baptism of Frankish king Clovis I in 496. For this reason, Reims is often referred to in French as la cité des sacres ("the Coronation City"). The Cathedral, the Palace of Tau and the former Abbey of Saint-Remi have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991.
Champagne Bergeronneau-Marion - Degustation
Champagne Florent Bergeronneau-Marion takes place in the village of Ville-Dommange. Renowned village of the Montagne de Reims, Ville-Dommange is a former locality in Champagne, which we discover in the 8th century under the name of "Villa Dominica" literally, "the farm that belongs to a lord". Lord who is none other than Louis 1st, King of France from 814 to 840. The village is also famous for its Chapel dedicated to Saint Lié, its patron saint. It is a traditional village, one of the most beautiful in Champagne, nestled around its bell tower, surrounded by illustrious vineyards, classified as Premiers Crus de Champagne ... where the Bergeronneau family is based. Since 1590, generations have succeeded each other on these lands, from coopers to winegrowers, and form the rich heritage of Véronique and Florent Bergeronneau-Marion, one from the Massif Saint Thierry and the other from the Montagne de Reims.
