FRENCH BEST CHRISTMAS MARKETS
Though we cannot compare how Christmas is celebrated in the Philippines, we have chosen the best Christmas markets and traditional villages in France for you to visit and enjoy the Christmas season.
Christmas decorations, beautiful Christmas trees and original Christmas gifts are some of the things you’ll love with these French Christmas Markets.
And as for the foods, whether you prefer bredele - biscuits or small cakes traditionally baked in Alsace especially during the Christmas period or manele - brioche bonhomme de la Saint-Nicolas and mulled wine, hot chocolate or apple juice, we can assure that you will taste joy at the Christmas gastronomic and crafts market.
Meet up will be at Place du Trocadero at 11:30pm and will leave before midnight.
Early in the morning, Amihan breakfast will be served while enjoying an extraordinary panorama over the Alsace plain in Mont Sainte-Odile. You can also visit the tomb of Saint Odile, the chapels of Tears and Angels and the panoramic terrace.
Alsace is known for the best wine and is famous worldwide. The Alsace Wine Route is France's oldest and is located along the eastern slopes at the foot of the Vosges. So as we continue our journey, we will visit Orschwiller for wine tasting and check their authentic Christmas Village.
Combining the beauty of architecture and the spirit of Christmas is what awaits you in Riquewihr, one of the most beautiful villages in Alsace. It will carry you away on the magic carpet of a true Alsatian Christmas!
Around 4:30pm, we will check in in a 4* hotel in Colmar to spend the night. You will experience the Christmas market in Colmar as it is said to be the most magical. The city shines brightly, timber-framed houses are generously decorated with Christmas lights and wreaths like a fairy tale. There are six markets to visit, Place des Dominicains on a spiritual dimension, arts and crafts at Koïfhus, local produce on Place Jeanne d'Arc, Little Venice for children’s Christmas market, a gastronomic village on Place de la Cathédrale, and decorations on Place de l'Ancienne Douane.
After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for Nancy. You’ll get into the spirit of the Christmas season and enjoy the warmest of welcomes as you visit Saint Nicholas Village in this City. The main Christmas market is in Place Charles III, the gourmet Christmas market is in Place Vaudémont, near the big wheel, and the arts and crafts market is in Place des Bourgets. Wander around and soak up the atmosphere of each ‘village’, shop for handmade gifts or enjoy a mulled wine or gingerbread.
We’ll head back to Paris at 4pm and will arrive in Place du Trocadero around 8:30pm.
